Double-Pipe Heat Exchangers

A double-pipe heat exchanger is made up of two concentric pipes. The outer pipe (shell-side) is usually a bare pipe, and the inner pipe (tube-side) is either a bare pipe or more commonly a pipe with longitudinal fins, providing additional surface area for heat exchange. Double-pipe exchangers may also be operated with multiple inner pipes to increase the surface area.

The double pipe heat exchanger is typically the simplest type of heat exchanger to install. They can be used in various sizes and configurations, and they can be made to work seamlessly with different surface areas. From industrial boilers to compressors, double pipe heat exchangers are commonly used in various applications. We, EEW fabricate these with ease according to the clients’ requirements.
