Inter & After Coolers

Many industrial processes and marine transports generate significant amounts of heat that must be dissipated to prevent damage to sensitive process components. Operators can mitigate the thermal effects of these processes by using devices like aftercoolers and intercoolers.

An intercooler is a heat exchanger used to cool a gas after compression. Most commonly used with turbocharged engines, it is used to counteract the heat of compression and heat soak in the pressurized intake air.

An aftercooler is a device positioned on a marine engine that controls the temperature of the air after it has traveled through the engine’s turbocharger. The aftercooler uses water tubes and transfers out some of the heat to cool this air before it reaches the combustion chamber.

Eminent Engineering Works manufactures intercoolers and aftercoolers of various sizes, shapes, and designs according to the demand of the customers. We also coat the coils with a rust-protective coating to increase the coolers’ lifespan.
